Professor and
Department Head
Dr. Stea is board-certified in radiation
oncology and treats patients with breast and lung cancers,
melanoma, brain tumors and pediatric cancers. His clinical
research focuses on:
- the treatment of malignant and benign
brain tumors with stereotactic radiosurgery.
- the development of novel radiation
enhancers/radiosensitizing drugs.
After he completed a doctorate in
biochemistry at UCLA, Dr. Stea received his medical degree from
George Washington University, Washington, DC. Following a
residency in radiation oncology at the National Cancer Institute,
Bethesda, Maryland, he was appointed to The University of Arizona
College of Medicine.
Dr. Stea is listed among The Best Doctors in
America since 1996 and has received the UMC "Patient's Choice
Award" for outstanding communications and excellence in
patient care in 1994, 1995 and 1998.
